What art means ? Art is an expression of human activity that manifests a personal vision about reality or fiction. The term art comes from the latin word "Ars". In ancient times, it was considered as the results of the production skills. Until the end of fifteenth century, during Italian renaissance, when for the first time a distinction between craftsman and artist was done ( craftwork and the arts ) and so between craftsman ( multiple work producer ) and an artist ( unique work ). It’s also a period when articulated language was made for referring to the exterior and no formal representation, classifying liberal arts in three trades: sculptors, painters and architects. At the end of eighteenth century, and overall during middle nineteenth century ( first industrial period ), its when appears a real opposition against artistic product ( global work with exclusivity ) and industrial ( restricted work serialized ). During this period private collections grew notably, first art academies was created ( women couldn’t access until dawn of twenty century ), wealth idea was arisen, with the appearance of firsts museums, and specialists like critical, art gallery owners and collecters. Distinction of “the arts” and “noble art” was made since 1920. |

So, digital art represents the creation of an artistic work realised with collaboration of computers and peripheral items as work tools. Llar3d pretends being a place from reference for all those people that wants to begin to experiment with digital art through its visual side. Landscape, scenes and worlds have always cause great expectation. Through years, new technical features have allowed going further from flat image: I mean, looking for a technique where lights and perspective seems to be photorealistic. Raytracing is the most used in such case. World around us is composed by solids, liquids, gases and light sources ( from various types, ones emitting all directions light and others just in one direction ). Raytracing tries to simulate, with mathematician calculations, light behaviour and world interaction of this, such as an observer could see the world. An inexpensive and simple program is Bryce. With it, we won’t be able to produce films nor complex animations, but we can represent landscapes, abstract worlds, characters … with impressive results. Moreover it has the advantage that interacts very fine with other 3D programs like Poser, 3Dstudio and others I really encourage reading manuals and browsing links for a better learning, results worth doing it |
